The ocean is where I learn, listen, slow down, and speed up - my surfboard is directly connecting me to the ocean. It’s a piece of gear that holds a vital role in my life, and the life of you, a fellow surfer.

Ask my parents, college roommates, or wife - I’ve been a gear guy my entire life. Full suspension bikes, golf clubs, backpacking, you name it.

Surfboards are something special.

My approach to shaping is based on the fundamentals of traditional surfboard design explored in the 60s and 70s. While some boards have specific waves in mind (i.e. Speed Shape), all have been designed and tested in the waves of Wrightsville Beach. Models are taken up and down the east coast for testing regularly, but generally speaking, you’ll see flatter rocker and fuller boards to maximize fun and time in the water.

Corporate warlords have snuck their way into the beautiful surfboard industry, and boards have become disposable. Modern-day “performance” surfboards that occupy 90%+ of surf shops’ racks are shaped “cut” by a CNC shaping machine and finished in a mass-production factory as “economically” as possible.

I firmly believe in making quality, hand-shaped surfboards.

Quality - made to last. Using classic glassing techniques, my boards are built with 6oz and 7.5oz volan fiberglass cloth and finished with a gloss coat. This ensures that your surfboard, after being well taken care of, can be handed down to your children one day.

Hand-shaped - simply put, no CNC machine, computers, no files, or ghost shapers. In the 1500s when a tree fell that warranted making a surfboard, a spiritual ceremony began. Shaping a surfboard was a sacred tradition done by hand. Each board is shaped from start to finish, by my two hands. I wont go on and on about why a hand shaped surfboard is special, but I encourage you surf one and find out for yourself.

Thank you for considering my surfboard designs. It’s an honor that you would entrust me with the opportunity to create something so vital to how you connect with the ocean. My shaping bay is always open; ready to get dusty?
